The Wilson score comprises five factors:

• Weight
• Upper cervical spine mobility
• Jaw movement
• Receding mandible
• Buck teeth

These factors are scored from 0-2 (normal to abnormal).

A score >1 identifies 75 % of difficult patients with 12 % false positives.
