Fig 1 shows the correctly positioned cLMA. It sits with its tip behind the cricoid cartilage, encircled by the upper oesophageal sphincter (cricopharyngeus), and with the airway orifice facing anteriorly into the glottis.
Fig 2 shows the posterior view of the periglottic area. The overlay indicates the ideal position of the cLMA, encircling the glottis.
