In around 95% of cases the cLMA should not require adjustment during the procedure.
If the patient position is changed the breathing circuit should be detached before the patient is moved, and reattached after moving the patient.
The patency of the airway should be confirmed after repositioning.
Rotation of the head and neck may lead to displacement of the cLMA, due to the relatively rigid nature of the cLMA tube. The airway seal may also alter with flexion (increasing seal) and extension (decreasing it). Where head and neck movement is anticipated, the reinforced cLMA may be a more suitable choice.
