Answer: As soon as the SpO2 falls below 95% check the patient

  • Take action:
    • Increase the oxygen flow
    • Ventilate the patient by hand to make sure the lungs are filling with oxygen
  • Then try to solve the problem:
    • Check the probe is on correctly
    • Is the problem with the patient or the equipment?
    • Call for help if needed
