Check the patient's breathing:

• Check adequate rate
• Check adequate tidal volume
• Check ET CO₂
• Listen to both lungs
• Bronchospasm? Consider bronchodilators
• Pneumothorax? Consider chest drain.

The most common cause of hypoxia in theatre is airway obstruction or inadequate breathing.
