Answer

Question: How would you manage a fall in the patients blood pressure or if the patient is vomiting?

Answer: A greater than 20% fall of BP from baseline or systolic pressure <90 mmHg requires treatment. Ensure left lateral tilt to reduce aorto-caval compression, increase IV infusion rate and give a bolus of vasopressor.

Nausea & vomiting is usually a symptom of reduced blood flow to the brain; therefore treat as above. If blood pressure is normal then consider an anti-emetic.
