• Open plan with curtains for provision of privacy
• Ventilation to remove anaesthetic gases (mechanical if possible)
• Oxygen and air (piped if possible)
• Clerical area
• Storage area - drugs, disposables, etc.
• Fire safety and evacuation protocol
• Sluide area for toiletting/disposal of body fluids
