Many hospitals have developed calling criteria, helping ward staff to recognize sick patients and the need to call for help.
Calling criteria might include low oxygen saturations, high or low respiratory rate, low blood pressure, tachycardia, oliguria, poor responsiveness (AVPU) and fever.
