The process for putting on sterile gloves is:

1. Perform a surgical scrub
2. If preparing for surgery, put on a sterile surgical gown opened by an assistant
3. An assistant should open the outer non-sterile packaging of the sterile gloves onto a sterile surface
4. Gloves should be put on by touching inside the gloves only, and without touching the outside of the gloves (see next page)
5. Gloves should cover the wrist of a surgical gown
