Magnesium preparations can be very confusing as the concentration can be stated as mg, mmols or percentage and you need to be able to convert between them.
Give 50% solutions only IM. Dilute to 20% for IV injections.
1 g Magnesium is approx equivalent to 4 mmol Mg (2+) or 8 mEq.
